Psychic Shane’s Six Nations So Far

There was an important Irish win at the weekend, with the Ireland Legends beating the English Legends led by my great mate Jason Leonard. I was smugly anticipating a follow up drubbing by the national team but it was not to be. England were just better. That’s the truth unfortunately. They dominated the contact area, exemplified by super humans Mako Vunipola and Mark Wilson made 27 tackles each, an incredible 6 Nations record! I was lucky to make 15!

Ireland need to regroup and under the leadership of O’Mahony amongst others I have no doubt this will happen. Praise needs to be given to CJ Stander who personified plucky Irish spirit by carrying on playing despite having a fractured eye socket and cheek bone. Garces and the TMO perhaps deserve less praise…mistakes on a number of crucial decisions affected the game despite still ending in the correct result.

We move on to play Scotland away and I am expecting another massive game as Scotland looked pretty strong against Italy despite conceding late tries.

What a weekend of rugby, I cannot wait for this weekend already! Although the body is still a bit ropey after the Legends game on Friday and spending the weekend with the Funbus… he can drink!
